Apex local charity partner 2017

It’s official! Our Local Charity Partner 2017… is Cheshire Without Abuse

Cheshire Without Abuse (CWA), provides temporary accommodation, advice and practical help to women, children, and men, escaping domestic abuse.

In addition to a 24-hour helpline and vital crisis accommodation, their range of support programmes is vast. Recovery support programmes for domestic abuse victims and their families are available, together with programmes to support perpetrators, both male and female.

Confidence building sessions are specifically designed to help people work through the confusing, and often devastating impact of domestic abuse. Professional counselling sessions are offered, alongside coffee and chat mornings for service users in need of respite.

Wellbeing workshops include the use of a kitchen to teach you how to cook nourishing, healthy food on a budget. Crèche and laundry facilities are also available. The list is endless!

Apex Commercial Manager, Debbie Snelson commented: “Fundraising Manager, Sharon Blackburn certainly opened my eyes. As soon as Chris (Apex’s M.D), and I visited CWA I knew it was the charity we should support this year. I’d obviously heard about domestic abuse, but to be honest never really stopped to think about it properly.

Abuse, bullying and intimidation knows no boundaries. It happens throughout all socio-economic groups, and can be insidious going unnoticed for years. It takes victims incredible courage to escape abuse, sometimes in life threatening situations. CWA provide that safe refuge and support system to give victims a real chance at aApex local charity partner 2017 new start.”
